The IZIP Trailz Enlightened electric bike is a high-tech, lithium-ion (Li-Ion) upgrade of their very popular and successful Trailz series of mountain-style on/off road electric bikes. This electric bicycle has all of the high-end parts associated with IZIP's Enlightened line of e-bikes including a strong but very light aluminum frame, brushless geared hub motor, and lightweight 24V/10AH Li-Ion battery pack hidden within the frame.

These electric bikes are of a type known to Europeans as "pedelecs" and unlike some electric bicycles, require the rider to pedal in order to activate the electric motor. The running options are either pedal power or pedal assisted electric power, but there is no "motor only" mode on this e-bike. The Trailz Enlightened electric bicycles comes in three frame sizes; a 17" medium model for the average rider, an 18" large model for taller folks, and an open framed step-through model for women.
